Michael Anthony Evans is an innovative, results oriented health care executive and pharmacy leader with a long track record of transforming enterprise pharmacy services through strategic integration of multidisciplinary resources and a patient-centric care philosophy. He currently serves as Chief Pharmacy Officer for Enterprise Pharmacy at Geisinger in Danville, Pennsylvania, where he provides administrative oversight and strategic direction across acute and ambulatory clinical pharmacy programs, retail, mail order and specialty pharmacy, managed care pharmacy, home infusion, formulary and procurement, data and informatics, operations and compliance, and a Center for Pharmacy Innovation and Outcomes.

Over his career at Geisinger, Mr. Evans has held progressive leadership roles including Vice President of Enterprise Pharmacy, Associate Vice President for Clinical Strategy and Innovation, Co-Director of the Center for Pharmacy Innovation and Outcomes, and Director of Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Programs. In these roles, he advanced large-scale pharmacy practice transformation, developed disease state care models and CarePaths to reduce unwarranted clinical variation, expanded Medication Therapy Disease Management services, and led clinical, operational, and financial improvement initiatives generating more than $400 million in system savings.

Mr. Evans is an Associate Professor at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and is recognized nationally for leadership in medication safety, population health, and value-based pharmacy care. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and has received multiple awards including ASHP Board of Directors Award of Excellence and Pharmacy Times Next Generation Health System Pharmacist of the Year. His work includes extensive committee leadership and external advisory participation, as well as a strong publication and speaking portfolio on topics such as opioid stewardship, prior authorization optimization, anticoagulation management, and data driven care delivery models.
